Healing with sound
“Sound healing is an invitation into a deeper state of consciousness, where you unplug from external stimuli and focus on what’s going on within you.”
— SARA AUSTER, SOUND THERAPIST
What is sound Healing?
An immersive Sound Bath event is designed to restore balance and promote overall well-being. Using a harmonious blend of crystal singing bowls, Tibetan signing bowls, gongs, chimes, bells, drums, and other resonant instruments, our certified practitioners guide you through a meditative journey that soothes the mind, body, and spirit. Research has found that an hourlong sound bath has the ability to help people reduce tension, anger, fatigue, anxiety, and depression while increasing a sense of spiritual well-being.
What are the benefits of sound healing?
Sound therapy is a an experience that relies on specific tones, frequencies and vibrations that support healing and relaxation. Since humans are mostly made of water, it is beneficial to our bodies to receive the sound waves through the vibrational frequencies of the instruments. This allows us to feel less stress and reduce anxiety, enhancing our overall mood, improved cognition, pain relief, and improve overall sleep.
How Does Sound Healing Work Scientifically?
Sound impacts us on an elemental level. Research shows us that sounds consist of vibrations that impact us on a cellular level, impacting brain, nerve, muscle, and organ function. For example, the sound of the singing bowls soothes us and a melodious chime puts us in a good mood. These reactions involve neural, physiological, and biochemical reactions within the body, as our minds and bodies sync to the vibrations of the sound.
Sound Journeys channel the power of these sound vibrations, for relaxation and healing.
How can I join a sound journey?
The best option is by subscribing to our emails. We regularly announce promotions, events, and services through email notifications. You can also check out our events page here at Authentic Ambiance! We update the events as we add more. You do have to register for an event a minimum of 24 hours beforehand to participate!
The exciting news is that Authentic Ambiance now offers a private Sound Journey session as well as a Couple’s Experience if you’re not interested in joining a group event.
What happens if i have to cancel?
No problem. We totally understand that life happens! We ask for a 48 hour notice if you’re canceling for an event you’ve registered to participate in and wish to receive a refund. This gives others a chance to join if they couldn’t!
We only require a 24 hour notice if it’s been booked as a private session
How DO I PREPARE?
Great question! We have some tips and suggestions for you to consider when you come to a group Sound Journey.
Give yourself 10–15 minutes before the start time to settle into your space, turn off distractions, and drop into your body. The best sessions begin before the first sound even plays.
Sound baths are more than just passive experiences, they’re energetic recalibrations, nervous system resets, and often portals into inner healing. But the environment you create for yourself during one can make a major difference in what you receive.
WHAT TO CONSIDER BRINGING TO A SOUND BATH
Yoga mat (Strongly recommended)
Water
Sound work is detoxifying. You’re moving energetic, emotional, and sometimes physical blockages. Hydrate before and after to support the body’s integration process.A cozy blanket
Sound baths activate your parasympathetic nervous system. As your body drops into deep rest, your temperature might drop too. A soft blanket creates warmth and comfort, helping you relax fully. An eye mask or scarf
Blocking out visual distractions allows your brain to shift into theta or delta brainwave states more easily. It helps deepen your sensory immersion.A small pillow or neck support
Head and neck comfort is key. If you have spinal tension or tend to feel uncomfortable lying flat, padding under the neck can make all the difference. An intention
Arrive with clarity. What are you hoping to shift, receive, or release?Sentimental and comforting items: a crystal, maybe a picture of someone who's passed away, stuffed animal, journal, etc
WHAT NOT TO BRING
Phones that aren’t on silent- we even suggest airplane mode
Strong perfumes
Loud, jangly jewelry
A sound bath is a ritual. Respect it like one.
The more intention, comfort, and compassion you bring into the space, the more your body and spirit can soften, receive, and align. The bowls do their part—but how you show up shapes the healing and your overall experience!
Authentic Ambiance is humbled to present such a powerful experience of healing to the community.
With love, light, and support
